Harburg (5.700 inhabitants), an attraction of the Romantiche Strasse on the bank of the River Wörnitz, it consists of tight network of medieval half-timbered houses and gabled Baroque buildings. The protestant Church of St. Barbara (1612), the Rathaus and the Marktplatz, deserve a visit. But the top attraction is undoubtedly the powerful Burg, the fortress on the hill with a commanding view over the town. The Burg was built between the 11th and 12th century by the Counts of Oettingen and in 1731 passed to the House of the Oettingen-Wallerstein, who are still the owners of the castle. Protected by a thick wall, this medieval structure, open to visitors, is equipped with a small hotel and a restaurant where local Bavarian cuisine is served.

This is a stage of moderate length that follows the River Wornitz, which we have encountered at Dinkelsbuhl, and which is a tributary of the Danube (Donau)We start from the Marktplatz, leave the Rathaus and turn right on the Am Bogen, to the left on the Donauworther Strasse, on the right to the bridge on the river, again right on the Grasstrasse, then sharp left on the Muhlgasschen, which we follow up to the Mundlinger Strasse; 100 m and we turn right on the Brunseer Strasse. Now we follow this road, first along the river, then across the fields and reach the village of Brunsee; we then continue to follow the river and we come to crossing the 25, there we cross the river to enter into Ebermergen which we walk through along the An der Brucke, then left on the Langasse which we follow up to Wornitzstein; we enter the village along the Oberriedstrasse, we turn left and cross the river again, we turn right on the Wornitzstrasse. We follow this road along the river then turn left on the Felsheimer Strasse, we walk through the small village of Felsheim, cross the railway and soon after resume following the river Wornitz; we arrive close to the outskirts of Donauworth along the Am Rothelfeld, and arrive on the Salingerstrasse which we cross and take the Am Alten Bahndamm which we follow up to take, on the right, the Kappeneck and the Pflegstrasse and we are now in the centre of Donauworth
