32 – (GER 32) – Fremdingen – Nordlingen

Fremdingen is a small municipality of 2.120 inhabitants, situated within the lander of Bavaria in the district of Donau-Ries. Its crest shows an image of St. Leonhard, who is venerated in the Ries north from centuries in all emergencies but first of all as protector of farm animals and horses. The Crest is painted with the colours of the County of Oettingen: Gold (earth shield), red (alone) e blue (iron chain).

We resume our walk crossing the railway line. We are on the Oettinger Strasse which by turning right will take us on the 25; we cross and continue on the An der Salch, which we leave at the three-road junction, to enter the wood uphill; this stage lies mainly on agricultural land with several villages and farms; the forests, beside this one, we shall barely touch. A straight route of 1 km will take us into a village: Raustetten, then we cross some fields; we walk along the edge of woodland, still uphill, we enter the wood for a few hundred meters and we go downhill turning left and along more fields, towards Enslingen, another small village. Out of the village we walk on a straight lane 1,6 km long across the fields and we arrive at road 25 which we cross and enter the w village of Minderoffingen. We cross the village in all, its length, walking the Dorfstrasse; which we leave after 600 m to turn right. We walk now on a straight line across the fields up to a farm, turn right and then left, 900 m more and we are in the municipality of Marktoffingen.  Entering the town we follow the road on the right, and then we take the Hauptstrasse, which takes us on the Don5, where we turn right then left on the Nordlingerstrasse, which in its turn will take us on the lane flanking the 25. We follow the road for 2,5 km, bypassing the small, village of Wengenhausen; then we turn left and in 900 m we are on the Birkhauser Strasse; we turn right, ahead for 1 km and arrive at Wallerstein. We walk around the hill of the ancient castle and arrive on the Felsenstrasse, where we turn right. We arrive on the Hauptstrasse, turn left then right on the Am Bug: 700 m in the middle of fields and we get to Ehringen. We arrive on the Weiherweg where we turn left to reach the Melchior-Meyr-Strasse. We turn right and follow the road which takes us into open country; 600 m and see arrive at the great junction of the 25 and the 29, which we surpass and continue straight for 900 m more to get to the outskirts of Baldingen on the Romantische Strasse, which we cross. We follow the Bachacker, we cross the Talergasse and take the Memmingerweg; 500 m and we are on the 29 which we follow to the left for 100 m then we turn right on the Nahermemmingerweg and arrive to the Ulmer Strasse: 500 m and we shall be in the town of Nordlingen
