THREE DAYS WALKING IN TRENTINO ON THE VIA ROMEA GERMANICA

The Association Via Romea Germanica organizes a long weekend on the Path in the Trentino section: you can discover one of the most impressive points, crossing the Val d’Adige, the city of Trento and part of the Valsugana Valley.
On FRIDAY 13 OCTOBER 2017
Arrival in Trento in the morning and accommodation at Youth Hostel. At 10.00 am departure with train of the Trento Malé railway (or bus) for Lavis. The stage runs along the ancient path from the San Lazzaro bridge to the Romanic church of Vigo Cortesano, then the Argentario mountain to reach the city of Trento. In the evening: guided tour of the historic center of Trento and convivial dinner.
Stage of about 15 kilometers, with a steep early climb, then flat and downhill.
on SATURDAY 14 OCTOBER
Departure from Trento at 8.00, climb to Povo, Passo Cimirlo, Roncogno and descent to Pergine Valsugana; break for a packed lunch at the Castle of Pergine, then continuation towards Levico and its lake. From Levico, return to Trento with the Valsugana train, dinner and overnight.
Stage of about 23 kilometers, with an important initial climb (which can be avoided by an urban bus for those who doesn’t feel up to).
on SUNDAY 15 OCTOBER
Departure from Trento at 08.00 with Valsugana train, arrival in Valstagna. Walk along the banks of the Brenta river from Valstagna to Bassano del Grappa. Arrive at Bassano for about 2 pm; then a typical local lunch.
Those who want can return to Trento by train. Whoever has to go to Veneto or Emilia can continue from Bassano by train to Castelfranco and Padua to take any other coincidences. In this case, luggage will be taken by car from Trento to Bassano and delivered to the departers.
