Pilgrimage from Cervia To Rome on the Via Romea Germanica
The “Gruppo Culturale Civiltà Salinara” and the Clodovea Cultural Circle in collaboration with the Via Romea Germanica Association, the Park of the Salina of Cervia and under the patronage of the Municipality of Cervia, organize, on the occasion of the traditional appointment of the delivery of the Salt to the Pope , a pilgrimage on foot from Cervia to Rome, along the historic route of the Via Romea Germanica.
PROGRAM OF THE EVENT
The event will have a prologue on 7 September 2019 as part of the “salt shed” events with the delivery to the Sindacio del Sale to donate to the Pope who, loaded on the traditional “cariolo”, will be transported inside the Museum of Civilization Salinara from the salt workers in historical costume and kept there until the day of the departure of the pilgrimage.
The departure ceremony will take place at 9.00 am on 09/28/9 in Piazza Garibaldi where the pilgrim parade will leave for Forlimpopoli.
The journey from Cervia to Rome will be divided into stages to be covered in a total of 12 days according to the following schedule:

30.09 Bagno di Romagna – La Verna
01.10 Capolona – Arezzo
02.10 Arezzo – Sassaia di Rigutino
03.10 Cortona – Pozzuolo

06.10 Civita di Bagnoreggio – Montefiascone
07.10 Vetralla – Sutri
08.10 Insugherata Park – Piazza San Pietro

On the days of 28 and 29 September, after the walk, you will return to Cervia by bus, while from 1 to 9 October pilgrims will receive a half-board stay at the hotel.
The total cost, payable by the participants, is € 550 in a double room and € 700 in a single room including:

half to return from Rome
Possibility to participate only in some stages of the journey.
