FROM TRENTO TO LEVICO TERME

After reaching the city of Trento by train, we will be welcomed in the magnificent Piazza del Duomo by the Councilor of the Via Romea Germanica, Gigi Zoppello, who will make a brief introduction on the history of the Via Romea.
From Trento by bus we will leave the city and start walking uphill in the hamlet of Oltrecastello di Povo, going up to the Passo del Cimirlo at 780 m.
We will descend into Valsugana valley through the town of Roncogno, then into the historic centre of Pergine, to go back to the castle that dominates the city. At the Castle there is an inn-restaurant. Then continue on foot along the hill of Tenna, passing the Romanesque church of Sant’Antonio Abate, with a view from above of the Caldonazzo Lake and the biotope of Pezzè. You will soon reach the shore of Levico Lake, which we will coast along the ancient Strada dei Pescatori (Fishermen Route) in an enchanted landscape. A short climb along the Rio Maggiore will take you to the historic centre of Levico Terme where we can have a refreshing snack. The return to Trento and then to Bolzano will take place with the Valsugana train that will take us to Trento in about an hour.
