All it takes is a pair of sneakers, better if with a rigid sole and a tank, a hat, a backpack and you are ready to book one of the free weekends of the first edition of “I love Camini Emilia Romagna 2019”. There are 12 walks, suitable for everyone, in the company of an official guide AIGAE (Italian Association of hiking guides) scheduled from 15 June to 30 September, throughout the region, from Piacenza to Rimini. The exits have been designed to let you discover the splendid historical and naturalistic paths of the territory, complete with a snack dedicated to typical products and stops in the most fascinating places of faith: from the Basilica of San Luca, to the Convent of the Poor Clares in the Montefeltro, from the Eremo of Tizzano, at the Abbey of Galeata in Romagna. The routes almost never exceed 10 km – most of them are limited to 7 or 8 km – and are suitable for everyone. It starts around 9.30 am and returns in the afternoon. Each return has been calculated so that public transport can be taken (if desired) to return home. The only obligation for the participants: to book on difficultly because the places have a limited number. The initiative is promoted by APT Servizi Emilia Romagna in collaboration with the Episcopal Conference of Emilia Romagna; the walks are organized by the individual paths of Emilia Romagna in collaboration with the AIGAE Association. Each day will be different. You will walk among woods and churches, between lakes and centuries-old chestnut groves, between small villages and mountain ridges. For example, in Castiglione dei Pepoli, on the Bolognese Apennines (June 15th), after the walk you will dive into the village festival dedicated to roads and street food. On 6 July, you will have lunch in one of the oldest historical refuges in Italy, the Duca degli Abruzzi in front of Lake Scaffaiolo in the Parco di Corno alle Scale (Bo). The day dedicated to the Piacenza stretch of the Via Francigena on September 14th also includes the ford of the Chiavenna stream, just like the ancient pilgrims. Among so much nature and woods, there is also an urban trek: it is the one in Parma scheduled for 21 September. Recommended equipment: hiking boots or boots with tank sole, waterproof jacket. Always carry a reserve of water. In case of rain in the previous days, presence of muddy stretches, the gaiters can be useful.
