Interest is growing in the Via Romea Germanica and in the opportunities for networking between neighboring territories, to promote slow tourism, coordinated and connected routes, development. Within a few days the Italian association Via Romea Germanica, with its president Flavio Foietta, participated in two different and important appointments with public administrators, organizations and economic operators of the Province of Rovigo interested in connecting to the historic pilgrim route described by the monk Alberto di Stade in 1200.
As has happened in other areas, the Via Romea Germanica is available, also to connect and promote local variants and itineraries alongside the main historical route, also traveled by pilgrims over the centuries.
Witness the discovery, in the area between Ariano Polesine and Chioggia, of some “medals” from 1200/1300 that pilgrims carried on their return from Rome as a sign of the pilgrimage made. A number of these “signs” are exhibited at the Diocesan Museum of Chioggia.
It was precisely on the day of meeting and discussion promoted by the ConsorzioPoolService and launched at the San Basilio cultural center in Ariano Polesine that
laid the foundations for a collaboration with the Via Romea Germanica, also represented by the councilor Luigi Polo.
Among the participants the president of the ConsorzioPoolService Fabio Biolcati with the vice president Sebastiano Bruschi, the councilor Sandro Vidali of Ariano Polesine, the president of the Po Consortium and his Delta Daniele Grossato, the president of the Gal Polesine Delta del Po Sandro Trombella with the director Stefano Fracasso, and Davide Bellotti for the Comacchio Ship Consortium.
A few days earlier Foietta spoke at a conference in Pincara, in the province of Rovigo, for a discussion on a cooperation project between Local Action Groups of Veneto and Emilia-Romagna which aims to develop paths and promotion “from the Delta del Po to the Apennines “.
Also in this case the availability of the Via Romea Germanica is maximum and Foietta stressed the importance of the presence and participation of the association also to ensure coordination and homogeneity of interventions for what concerns paths, signs and maintenance, as well as for the overall promotion. of the territories. In Pincara there were the Mayors of the Municipalities (all in the province of Rovigo) of Pincara Stefanio Magon, of Salara Lucia Ghiotti and of Ceneselli Angela Gazzi, the president of Gal Polesine Delta Po Sandro Trombella.
