WITH THE SALT WORKERS OF CERVIA TO DELIVER THE SALT TO POPE FRANCIS

Also this year the Associations of Cervia linked to the saltworks and the Municipality organize the “Delivery of the Sweet Salt of Cervia” to the Pope. It will take place during the Audience on Wednesday 12 October in St. Peter’s Square. It is now a beautiful tradition that wants to remind us that the saltworks of Cervia were owned by the State of the Church and that for centuries it was the custom of the salt workers and the community of Cervia to pay a symbolic homage to the “owner” of this industry that gave sustenance to many families. The route will take place along the Via Romea of which only some stages will be made, from 2 to 11 October, according to the attached program. There will be meetings with local administrations, almost all members of the Via Romea Germanica; the Deputy Mayor Gabriele Armuzzi will represent the Municipality.
