THE MUNICIPALITY OF AREZZO IS THE NEW MEMBER OF THE VIA ROMEA GERMANICA

On December 15, 2016, the Arezzo City Council approved his entry in the Association Via Romea Germanic.
The Association expresses its satisfaction and its thanks to the councillor Mr.Comanducci (who has followed the whole process) and the whole City Council.
Now, with the entry of Arezzo, all the Tuscan municipalities crossed by the Via Romea are members of the Association; today the member municipalities, in Italy, are 26 with more other 4 public bodies.
A remarkable achievement that allows us to carry on with greater determination the project of the Via Romea Germanica, for the cultural and touristic development of the local landscapes.
This is in addition to the upcoming birth of the European Association of the Via Romea Germanica by the three associations: the Italian Via Romea, the Austrian Jerusalem Way and thr German Romweg. The birth of this European Association is scheduled for January 2017.
Also all the procedures for obtaining recognition as a Cultural Route of European Interest have already started .
The councillor Marcello Comanducci says: “…. the MIBACT (Italian Ministry of Culture and Tourism) declared 2016 as the year of the historical paths giving a strong boost to a sector which already moves 5 million and a half visitors a year. The province of Arezzo is crossed by one of the most important European strategic hiking trails; so I believe strategic that the municipality becomes a member of this Association. I want to thank the entire City Council that voted unanimously to practice …… The town of Arezzo is affected by two stages: Arezzo-Subbiano for a total of 19,5 kilometers, and Arezzo-Castiglion Fiorentino of 24.8 km … “
