MANAGING BOARD AND ASSEMBLY OF VIA ROMEA GERMANICA
Saturday, November 26, the Assembly and the Managing Board of the Association Via Romea Germanica was held in St.Sophia. An important moment to take stock and have the directives for the future activities. This takes place after the important meeting in Innsbruck, where we decided and planned two important actions: the establishment of the European Association of the Via Romea Germanica (next January 2017) and the demand for recognition as a European Cultural Route (end of 2018). 2016 was the breakthrough year: for the first time pilgrims (alone or in groups, on foot or by bike) have traveled independently the Via Romea. This is thanks to the signs along the entire route, the guidebook published by Terre di Mezzo, the distribution of our Credentials. Thanks also to friends who have always locally guaranteed, with their availability, assistance to pilgrims. From everywhere along the way the exercises speak of an increasing flow of visitors. This gives us the right spirit for a 2017 full of events and satisfaction. Even Public Bodies our members are increasingly involved: important document signed by all the Mayors of Umbria, the facilitation of access to cultural places for pilgrims (see Cortona), the availability of the GAL to use European funds for the Via Romea .
