FORLIMPOPOLI- 37th MEMBER – WELCOME !
26 July 2020
With resolution no. 7 of 20 February 2020 the Municipality of Forlimpopoli (FC-Emilia-Romagna Region) has given its adhesion to the VIA ROMEA GERMANICA. A great result because so all the Municipalities of Romagna are Members of the Italian VRG Association. Which strengthens us also in the request made for the European Recognition. VIA ROMEA GERMANICA is more alive than ever and grows in the territories, in the world of the Paths.
“ALSO FORLIMPOPOLI JOINS THE VIA ROMEA GERMANICA
With resolution no. 7 of 20 February 2020 the Municipality of Forlimpopoli (FC-Emilia-Romagna Region) has given its adhesion to the VIA ROMEA GERMANICA. A great result because so all the Municipalities of Romagna are Members of the Italian VRG Association. Which strengthens us also in the request made for the European Recognition. VIA ROMEA GERMANICA is more alive than ever and grows in the territories, in the world of the Paths.
Forlimpopoli is the homeland of Pellegrino Artusi, who codified, collected and promoted Romagna cuisine, making it famous all over the world. The Artusian Feasts are an invitation for the most refined gorges: even our “pilgrims” – tourists will be able to enjoy, all year round, this particularity of Forlimpopoli.
We thank the Mayor Milena Garavini and the Councilor Matteo Peperoni for their sensitivity and for their commitment.
Below is the press release:
“ALSO FORLIMPOPOLI JOINS THE VIA ROMEA GERMANICA
The Via Romea Germanica, established in the Association on May 15, 2012, is enriched with a new partner – the Municipality of Forlimpopoli – which thus joins the 36 Public Bodies (from Bolzano to Orvieto, to the Casentino Forests National Park ….) that have supported it for years. “The entry into our team of the Municipality of Forlimpopoli – declare the President of the European Association Flavio Foietta and the President of the Italian Association Liviana Zanetti – appears to be decisive because now the whole stretch of Romagna of the Via Romea runs through communities and territories that share this project. Already with this Administration, which we thank for its sensitivity, a valid collaboration has been in place for years. The environment, culture, friendship between people and peoples, the link with Europe (and first of all with Germany and Austria) are the fundamental points of this Route which is a candidate for the Recognition of the Council of Europe. Forlimpopoli and the neighboring Municipalities are working for the total recovery of the beautiful area of the Ronco River. The Via Romea – continues the President – can only actively participate, given that at his own expense he has opened up a large part of the river bed to all (pilgrims and non-pilgrims).The collaboration between Municipalities, Associations, Bodies and enthusiasts in general is a good engine to give more and more adequate answers to the various Communities, in search of environmental, physical, health and well-being and an ever better quality of life. With Forlimpopoli, which also includes the Ravenna-Cervia-Bertinoro variant, it is possible to study and implement actions, events and programs that territorially involve the whole belt between the plains and the first Apennine hills, towards Passo Serra, towards Rome “.
“We are very pleased to be part of this important European journey – the mayor Milena Garavini and the councilor for the environment of the Municipality of Forlimpopoli Gianmatteo Peperoni declare in their turn – The Via Romea Germanica is an example of slow and sustainable tourism, attentive to the cultural, natural and historical riches of the territories it crosses. Forlimpopoli with its Artusian vocation, with its archaeological museum, with the Spinadello visitor center of the naturalistic area of the Ronco river, will certainly be an interesting stop for walkers who walk through it .
The passage from our territory of the pilgrims who went to Rome, or from here returning to Ravenna, is evidenced by the findings of several ceramic flasks (pilgrim’s flasks), which can be admired at the MAF, as well as from the remains of the ancient road linking Ravenna to the Apennines, including the Roman bridge of Selbagnone “.
