INNSBRUCK – COSTITUTION OF THE EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF THE VIA ROMEA GERMANICA

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th, November, in Innsbruck the Way German Romweg, the Jerusalem Way of Austria, the Via Romea Italian Germanic, the Hanseatic League met for a workshop in order to form the EAVRG, (European Association of the Via Romea Germanica) and to prepare the documents necessary for recognition as a Route of European Cultural Interest. Also Prof. Dallari  of Bologna University (she proposed the Technical and Scientific Committee) and the historian Giovanni Caselli were present. Not being able to be present, the president of the Association of Via Francigena, Massimo Tedeschi, has secured his collaboration and participation in a comprehensive agreement that will cover the major European Walks, according to the Council of Europe guidelines. For the completion of the forms and for the preparation of several administrative acts, research on various socio-historical and spiritual fields, etc .. an assignment was given  to an Austrian professional office.  In Innsbruck the Via Romea Germanic (north-axis south) meets the Jerusalem Way (east-west). From Zirl to Innsbruck Cathedral the two paths overlap for 8 Km, then they take different directions. By February 2017, the signature for the foundation of EAVRG will be affixed probably in Santa Sofia, site of the Via Romea Germanica.
