Walking Sunday 1 September – Last call for FREE INSCRIPTIONS
If you are passionate about nature, culture, spirituality and walks, join us on excursions on the Via Romea Germanica on a part of the stage from Cusercoli to Santa Sofia.
Sunday, September 1 with meeting at 9.30 am at the parking of the sports center in Via Mevaniola Galeata, we will walk together in Via Zanetti, the historical center of Galeata, and then go up to the Abbey for a visit to the church with a guide. We will descend to Galeata along the ancient Mulattiera delle Celline (as well as Via Crucis), and then head to Pianetto to visit the Borgo, the Church and the Museum with a guide. Return to Galeata, passing by the ancient village of Mercatale, with a stop at the cippus which recalls, according to tradition, the passage of DANTE directed to Valbona by his friend and patron Lizio. Packed lunch or with typical products at the Il Ritrovo kiosk, located along the route to Pianetto.

Program
9.30 am Meeting at the parking of Divia Mevaniola sports center in Galeata
We recommend fooling around with a breakfast at the Fantini pastry bakery. Visit Start with two steps on Via Zanetti in the historic center of Galeata
We will ascend to the Abbey on a 3Km path on a paved, tree-lined and panoramic road, in a light but constant climb. We will visit the church supported by a guide that will illustrate the history of the site.
We will go back down to Galeata along the ancient Mulattiera delle Celline (as well as Via Crucis) in a path of about 1.5km
We will then head towards Pianetto (about 1Km) where we will visit the village, the Church and the museum always supported by the guirda.
Finally we will return to Galeata, passing by the ancient village of Mercatale, with a stop at the cippus which, according to tradition, recalls the passage of DANTE directed to Valbona by his friend and patron Lizio.
Packed lunch for participants or possibility to have lunch with typical products at the Il Ritrovo kiosk, located along the route to Pianetto.
3.00 pm Program deadline
All participants are required:
• equipment suitable for walking with hiking boots or, in any case, with a carved sole;
• comfortable clothes suitable for the period, waterproof jacket (if weather conditions require it);
• plenty of water and a packed lunch; there is no water or food supply service.
(Possibility of lunch at the kiosk Il Ritrovo, located along the route to Pianetto.)
For minors it will be necessary to acquire parental consent by completing the appropriate paper form before leaving.
